Auspicious Kumiko Rindo
Rindo was loved by women in the Heian era. The design was used for furniture and clothes as seen in old books such as “Genji Monogatari” and “Makurano Soushi”. The beautiful design, based on star-like shapes, can fit in with both Japanese and Western style rooms.
Origin of Design
The Gentian expresses the virtues of love, sincerity, justice and tolerance.
As a digestive medicine called Rindo is made from its roots, the purple flower is popular as a symbol of longevity on the Respect-for Senior Citizens Day.
